DAWN OVER AFRICA, Tanzania, ascend to Kilimanjaro - highest mountain in African continent, Marangu routeBegin your Tanzanian adventure at the Marangu Hotel. Nestled in the tranquil foothills of Kilimanjaro, it is the perfect place to relax before your trek. At dawn, a short drive takes you to Marangu Gate, the gateway to your ascent. Here, registration formalities are completed before you start your journey through the enchanting rainforest towards Mandara Hut. The path is well maintained and winds up through the lush canopy bursting with exotic birdlife and monkeys. The next phase of your journey takes you on a trek from Mandara to Horombo Shelter. Swap out the dense tropics for open moorlands, offering stunning views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. At Horombo, rest and acclimatize, savoring the serene mountain landscapes. Explore the Mawenzi acclimatization radial trail, where you can adjust to the altitude amidst breathtaking landscapes. After, continue the trek to Kibo Shelter. The path gradually steepens and narrows as you move across desolate moonlike landscapes of the alpine desert. At midnight, begin the most challenging part of the journey - the assault to Gilman's Point. This grueling trail zigzags up steep scree slopes to the crater rim. As the sun rises, you'll experience an unforgettable view over Africa below. Trek back to Horombo Shelter for a well-deserved rest, then to Marangu Gate. Upon descent, receive your summit certificates, a proud testament of your achievement. Finally, a transfer awaits to take you to Kilimanjaro International Airport, ready for your onward journey or flight home.
